About Us
The Family Business
This is us - the family of TK Clothing Inc - 5 of us plus a fur kid. Ocean going kind of people - though we don't actually own a boat...do paddle boards count? We love the outdoors and wanted to create products that you can dig in with. Our small kid testers (TK and EK) get muddy, sandy, wet, they climb rocks and slide down them...and somehow they love to be in the sea even in the colder months... not me!Â
So go ahead and start with a base layer for your adventures, and then warm up and find yourself wanting more of the fantastic fiber that is merino!

We Handcraft It - in North Saanich, BCÂ
I'm Rebecca (hello!) - and I actually handmake the clothing. If the listing on our site says handcrafted in North Saanich, BC - then that is me! So the hoodies, leggings, base layers - all of it... I am not a factory - I am a person.Â
When you buy from us, you are supporting a truly Canadian handmade small business. #shoplocal - yay!
We also have a small selection of products (like laundry soap and socks) that we do not make ourselves, but wanted to offer as part of the whole merino apparel package! - The laundry care products are all from Canadian/USÂ companies, and the socks are from a small family run business in New Zealand -Â we designed them!
Â
The Fabric
We believe in merino, the environment, and organic for us all. It has to be good for your skin, and from places we can get behind! So we design and actually sew the apparel, but we have to get the fabric from somewhere - right?
The Merino fabric we source from is carefully selected from a range of suppliers including: farm - mill in the USA (organic merino), farm - mill in Australia (one of the few left! - and they are still family run!), ZQ merino, or Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified or better. We also use deadstock for select items.Â
Our Organic Cotton fabric is either from Europe as they have the highest standards for organic and no harsh chemicals in any of the process (GOTS), or from the USA - ALL of which are at least Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified.Â
Our Socks are made in New Zealand (merino anyone?) from a small family run business - we design them, they make them for us!
The Laundry Care products are all made in Canada or the US!
Â
The Packaging
We also believe in environmentally aware packaging. So when your package arrives, and you open it up - you'll see it wrapped in paper and tied with 100% cotton string- which can be composted. The outer packaging can be at least recycled - some even composted depending on your order.Â
Better yet - choose non-contact local pickup if you are near us. (From our house!) Save the shipping fees, the gas used to move the package around, etc.Â
Â
We love to hear feedback on our products, and welcome any product suggestions you'd like to see!Â
